About Me

I am originally from South Africa, where I had been teaching guitar in Johannesburg since 2012. I moved to Ireland in 2020 with my Irish/South African wife, and I've been teaching in Wicklow Town and online all around Ireland since then. We welcomed our daughter, Skylar, to the world at the National Maternity Hospital Dublin on 22nd May 2022.

I started playing guitar in Cape Town, where I grew up. My brother taught me how to play guitar in high school, and I also followed online guitar tutorials in my free time. After high school, I joined a band called The Short Cuts and we played at places like Mercury Live in Cape Town’s CBD and at Gandalfs in Observatory.

I now have a diploma in Guitar Performance from the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in Dublin, and I have also completed my Grade 6 exam in acoustic guitar with Trinity College London.

As a guitar teacher, I aim to offer lessons that are easy to follow, focusing on the development of 5 core guitar skills, with a practical application to contemporary and classic songs across many genres.
